As I searched for ways to keep this from happening to me, I began reading lot of self-help books, taking minerals and supplements, and doing moderate exercise. Nothing worked, not even the strong urgings from my doctor who eventually resorted to a last-ditch solution – giving me more drugs. Then Dr. Bill Sears told me that he didn’t take any medications and gave me the opportunity to read his book, Prime Time Health.
Most of my life I have had to fight weight gain, and for the past thirty-five years I have used the on-again, off again low-carb dieting approach. The older I got, the more difficult it was to lose weight and maintain weight loss. After each period of weight loss, I ended up with a higher baseline weight, and along with it came diabetes and high blood pressure. Each year, I depended more and more on drugs. Then I began reading Dr. Bill’s manuscript and was so inspired by his personal story that I began using this techniques and wound up completely changing my eating and my lifestyle.
Dr. Bill’s stories, wit, insight, and simple yet easy-to-remember rules for healthy living made this a fun, informative, and motivating read. The more ideas I tried, the more confident I became. Now I will try almost any new food, and I’ve discovered a whole world of very tasty foods that I would not have considered eating even a year ago.
With a goal of extending my life and living more comfortably and healthily, I figured I had to lose sixty pounds. As I write this, I have reached three-quarters of my goal and am slightly ahead of my plan. More important, my blood sugar readings have dropped dramatically, as has my blood pressure and cholesterol – all while enjoying more and better food!
As my waist shrank from forty-four inches to thirty-eight inches, I gave my pants to my son-in-law, along with an early cop of Prime-Time Health. There is no doubt in my mind that I will reach my goal and be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle and enjoy eating at the same time. I can honestly say that the Prime-Time Health plan has resulted in the best change in my life, one for which I will be forever grateful. At the age sixty-nine, I am happy to hear my personal physician say that I look a lot younger, and when people ask me how I’m feeling I can honestly say that I fee terrific.
